Our Approach
Balance Yoga is a non-dogmatic yoga that emphasizes balance,
modern day fitness, personalization and holistic health. The
certification prepares teachers with a combination of theoretical
and practical training to teach a variety of Hatha yoga styles safely
and effectively. We offer distance learning and live training
options.
We offer training at the 200-2000 hour levels. Our 200-500
programs meet the requirements of the Yoga Alliance and the
1000-2000 hour programs make graduates eligible to receive
board certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner through the
American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).

2008 Training Calendar
Yoga Training Program Options:
- 200 hour Certification: This program is the foundation of
all advanced training. It includes basic teaching methodology
and techniques to teach a safe and effective Hatha yoga or
Power Yoga class.
- 500 hour Advanced Certification: This program builds on
the 200 hour program by adding advanced teaching
methodology and techniques. This program is designed for
those who want to deepen their personal practice and work
with special populations such as children, pre-natal, seniors
and sports populations.
- 1000 hour Therapist: This program is designed for
students interested in establishing a complete yoga therapy
and wellness consulting practice. Course work includes a
consulting practicum, patient communications, client charting
and therapeutic health applications.
- 2000 hour Practitioner: This program is the highest
designation for Balance Yoga training programs. It includes
an international intensive study in India/Thailand, advanced
methodology training and a consulting practicum.
- Yoga as Therapy Training: Our approach to yoga therapy
provides therapeutic benefits to those who need more than
general health and fitness. It blends Ayurveda therapy
principles with yoga to create an adaptive form of therapy
emphasizing restoration, stress, pain relief, and individual
modification.
- Thai Yoga Massage Therapy Training: This course
teaches a classic, 60 to 90-minute traditional Thai massage
routine, history, and yoga foundations. The principles of
alignment, safety and good practitioner body mechanics will
be taught.
