Frequently Asked Questions

 

  1. Do I need to pre-register for classes? You do not have to sign in to class prior to coming. It saves time at the beginning of class and is much appreciated especially if you are running just on time or late to class. Also, during the winter months class cancellations are posted online and you will be automatically notified by e-mail if you are signed in for that class in the event of cancellation.  
  2. What forms of payment do you accept?  We accept cash, check and  credit card/debit (Visa/Mastercard)
  3. Are there locker rooms/shower facilities? We have two bathrooms for changing. There are no lockers or showers.
  4. Can I test-drive a class to see if I like it? You can test drive class for free but will no longer be eligible for new member discounts.  We suggest starting with a new member pass. It’s hard to get a get idea of the benefits of the yoga and fitness practices just by attending one class.
  5. Where are you located? Is the area safe?  We are located in downtown Kansas City, Kansas in historic Strawberry Hill. The area has a high pedestrian rate but it rather safe. The fire and police department are just blocks away. Police on foot and bike patrol the downtown area until 5:00 p.m. each day.  There are ample street lights in the dark.
  6. Where do I park? Their is ample, free parking on either side of Central Street  in front of the KCFitnessLink studio.
  7. I forgot my Mindbodyonline account login or password? Send an e-mail to us to reset your account.
  8. What do I need to bring to yoga or fitness classes? Bring a yoga mat, towel and water. We provide rental mats if you do not have one.
  9. How do I know when classes are canceled?  Class cancellations are communicated three ways:  1) by a direct e-mail from our staff or the Mindbodyonline system 2) A cancellation notice in posted in the Mindbodyonline system so you will not be able to sign in for that class 3) Our homepage and other pages on KCFitnessLink.com in the “Recent posts section.”
  10. Do I need to fill out any forms before class? Please fill out the health history form if it is your first visit. If you are coming for a massage complete the massage intake form as well.
  11. How early should I arrive to class? 15 minutes is sufficient to set up and prepare for class. Our studio is typically opened 30 minutes prior to each class.
  12. As a beginner which yoga class is best for me? All of our class are multi-level meaning that we provide intensity options that are low, moderate and most intense or physically challenging. As a participant you can choose which is best for you. The Hatha basics classes are a good starting place but any class will do. We offer one-on-one yoga and personal fitness training if you would like to establish a base level of fitness before beginning classes.
  13. I’m new to fitness, should I do boot camp fitness? Boot camp, like our yoga is also multi-level, meaning there are intensity options for everyone. Everyone has a starting place.
  14. Are there any specials for new members? Yes we offer a new member 7 class pass for $50 that expires in 365 days. View our class schedule page for more information.
